LEXINGTON PARK, Md. – Inc. magazine today revealed that AVIAN is No. 4496 on its annual Inc. 5000 list, the most prestigious ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies.
Ten years ago, AVIAN debuted on the Inc. 500 list at No. 230.
“We’ve come a long way in ten years,” said Kevin Switick, CEO of AVIAN. “It is incredible to set a goal and to see that goal realized. Our team has worked very hard for this ten-year achievement and I could not be prouder.”
The Inc. list represents a unique look at the most successful companies within the American economy’s most dynamic segment—its independent small businesses. Microsoft, Dell, Domino’s Pizza, Pandora, Timberland, LinkedIn, Yelp, Zillow, and many other well-known names gained their first national exposure as honorees on the Inc. 5000.
AVIAN ranked No. 267 in 2011, No. 660 in 2012, No. 1675 in 2013, No. 2630 in 2014, No. 2417 in 2015, No. 3599 in 2016, No. 3764 in 2017 and No. 4878 in 2018.
“Growth is incredible for our business, but for us, it’s really about the legacy we’re creating," Switick said. “Our purpose here at AVIAN is to redefine what it means to be resourceful, responsive and reachable to customers in the defense industry as well as the commercial market.”
AVIAN leverages its talents to simplify the client's most pressing professional challenges. Whether that’s by solving a problem they don’t have time for or know how to best solve, or by providing day-to-day support that augments their time so they can focus efforts on achieving higher goals.
AVIAN believes that talent, fueled by passion, is the right trait to get the job done and now has more than 275 talented employees working around the country.
In 2018, AVIAN became 49 percent employee-owned by adopting an Employee Stock Ownership Plan, or ESOP.
Using the Congressionally authorized ESOP program, AVIAN created a plan to provide employees with a retirement incentive in addition to its AVIAN 401k.
AVIAN was also recognized by Inc. as being one of its Best Places to Work in 2018.
“I believe that our company continues to achieve success [recognizable by Inc.] by sticking to our corporate value – we take care of each other,” Switick said.
