AVIAN 'Levels Up', adds two new leaders

LEXINGTON PARK, Md. – With small business graduation on the horizon, two new corporate officers joined AVIAN this week in preparation for the company’s launch into middle markets next year.

AVIAN welcomed John Verdon, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), and Randall “Randy” Carr, Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) on Monday, April 13.

“In a video game, before you level up, a player collects points, supplies, and tools for any unknown challenges ahead,” said Kevin Switick, CEO of AVIAN. “That’s exactly what AVIAN is doing in 2020. We’re building our team and gathering tools for our new adventure in the middle markets. This is the right time to add new capabilities and these two new roles are going to bring immense benefits to the company.”

Verdon, selected as AVIAN’s new CFO, joins the company with more than 20 years of financial forecasting experience within government contracting as well as various commercial industries. His experience includes strategic cash flow management and profit maximization using proven planning and control techniques.

Carr, a former Vice President of Human Resources and 2008 Recruiter of the Year at SAIC, joins AVIAN as its new CHRO to develop and lead HR processes, systems, and programs that will strengthen compliance, recruitment, compensation, benefits, performance management, talent management, employee relations, and communications.

“John and Randy are visionary strategists and are going to make sure the company we’ve built for over 15-years has what it takes at the next level,” Switick said. “We’ve got a great foundation for them to build upon and I am truly excited for both to get started. This is going to be fun!”
