LEXINGTON PARK, Md. – AVIAN LLC was awarded a five-year, $63.8M cost-plus fixed-fee, level of effort contract to provide test and evaluation support services to the Naval Air Warfare Center – Aircraft Division’s (NAWCAD) Integrated Systems Evaluation, Experimentation and Test (ISEET) Department (AIR 5.1).

NAWCAD’s AIR 5.1 competency provides the resources for full life-cycle program T&E support from requirements review to the design, planning, execution, evaluation, & reporting of experiments and tests of aircraft, unmanned air vehicles, weapons, weapons systems & integrated warfare systems.

As the returning provider of Contract Support Services for AIR 5.1, the AVIAN team will continue to provide T&E expertise and risk mitigation activities.

“Our team features responsive ‘reach-back’ capabilities and a proven record of direct T&E support across AIR-5.1,” said Greg Griffitt, AVIAN’s AIR 5.1 program manager.

AVIAN’s team is comprised of subcontractors Aviation Systems Engineering Company, Inc. (ASEC); Jahn Corporation; J. F. Taylor, Inc.; KBRwyle; ManTech Advanced Systems International, Inc.; Precise Systems, Inc.; RCW LLC; Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC); and Tekla Research, Inc.

The contracted support for AIR 5.1 includes test program management; Assistant Program Manager for Test and Evaluation, and Lead Test Engineer support; Test Resource Management and Test Information Management support; Flight Test Engineering and Technology Development support; Platform Coordination; and Test Project Management support.

“Our T&E professionals are directly responsible for oversight, direction, and analysis to ensure safe and effective ground and flight test of aviation-related U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, and U.S. Coast Guard acquisition efforts,” Griffitt said.

Moving forward, the AVIAN team seeks to continuously improve its partnership and support of ISEET – expanding participation in the development of test strategies, test methods, and test plans; enhancing test execution and reporting of test results; and innovating with training to sustain the expertise of the AIR-5.1 workforce – all while assisting ISEET as it evolves its T&E processes to meet future requirements.
