Systems Engineering
Systems Engineering is an interdisciplinary approach and means to enable the realization of successful systems. It focuses on defining customer needs and required functionality, documenting interfaces and requirements, then proceeding with design synthesis and system verification and validation.
Relevant.
We are immersed in the latest technology developments from space systems, to aircraft, to high altitude balloons, to driverless cars, to unmanned systems of every type; even submarines. Our team has recent and relevant experience.
Proven.
We have been called upon by the U.S. Department of Defense, intelligence agencies, major research labs, and Fortune 500 companies to solve critical design failures and mature system designs.
Critical.
Trained as U.S. Navy test pilots and aircraft/space systems engineers, we are experts in the art of critical thinking. Our solutions are balanced and thought-provoking.
Our approach is based on years of making complex military systems for the Department of Defense into simple systems for the warfighter to use.
- We always begin with the end-user in mind
- We focus on the operational effectiveness and suitability of the system when it is fielded
- We expertly use fault tree and failure mode analysis tools to mature and improve on your design for the end-user
- We are the experts on testing and evaluating the system's performance and recommending improvements with detailed reports
- Our team includes design engineers, systems engineers, reliability engineers, maintenance engineers, and test engineers, and modelers
- When maturing your final system design for production such that it’s a cut above the rest, we are the ones to call
Model-Based Systems Engineering
Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) utilizes systems models to replace the document-centric nature of typical Systems Engineering (SE). The artifacts necessary to describe a system, interfaces, functions, architecture, requirements, and operations, become views of the system model. MBSE moves the record of authority and Technical Baselines from documents to digital models.
AVIAN provides direct support to NAVAIR’s Future Vertical Lift (FVL) programs including the Attack Utility Replacement Aircraft (AURA); a replacement for the UH-1 and AH-1 aircraft for the USMC and Growler Block 2 for the U.S. Navy.
We define and implement frameworks, architectures, and modeling methodology that enable:
- System design across multiple levels of abstraction
- Implementation of SE and other engineering processes in MBSE
- Integration and management of other model types, tools, and data sources with the MBSE environment
We define Mission-Based Test Design (MBTD) in SysML to enable it within the MBSE environment.
We define and implement model configuration management processes to control system and process design and enable widespread collaboration across the development and sustainment cycles.
We implement Agile System Development to manage MBSE processes and model development.
We direct support to the NAVAIR / NAWCAD Systems Engineering Transformation team to build the processes and methodology necessary to implement MBSE at the organization level.
Program Management
Immerse.
We immerse ourselves in your world to connect, understand and appreciate the challenge from your perspective. No two challenges are the same, and no one-size-fits-all answer is perfect.
Inspire.
We inspire your team to envision your complex challenge as a simple question needing a logical answer. We change their ‘issues’ into ideas and their ‘concerns’ into thoughts. We enable creativity that breaks your team’s patterns and changes their focus thus invigorating their desire to answer the question.
Resolve.
We use fierce resolve to redirect organizational energy towards the new vision, the new solution, the new focus until it happens.
Our Approach:
- Envision the challenge in technical, process and political terms
- Re-state the challenge as a simple question in solvable terms
- Break the challenge into logical chunks
- Create a resourced solution (options) with a milestone schedule
- Apply critical thinking and risk-based decision-making techniques
- Inspire all to embrace the chosen solution with vim and vigor
System Administration
Immerse.
We immerse ourselves into the IT world to help create new solutions and solve your system issues. No matter how big or small the issue, we work our hardest to find the best solution and keep the systems running at top levels.
Inspire.
We inspire our teammates to go above and beyond when it comes to system issues. We look to solve the issue and find ways to prevent them from happening again. We inspire out employees to find ways to make the everyday tasks easier and quicker. Whether we write a new script, develop a new process or train others to better their understanding, we make sure to make best use of not only our time, but the customer’s as well.
Resolve.
We use fierce resolve to buckle down and make sure we find the “root cause” of every issue. Even if it means we go above and beyond, we make sure that we can answer any question thrown our way.
Our Approach:
- Gather the facts
- Research the issue from all angles
- Apply critical thinking and risk-based decision-making techniques
- Notify the customer of our plan of action
- Execute the plan
- Explain the issue to the customer and provide any possible actions to help further prevent it from happening again.
Don’t see what you’re looking for?
We are skilled at finding the exact talent and technical expert a customer is looking for. When a chief engineer from a Fortune 500 company called us looking for a leading expert on lightning affects to aircraft, we brought him to the world’s leading expert in less than 30 minutes. Our network is vast, and our connections are strong. Why not give us a try!
